Xiao-yang Li Hosts Open Studio Event

Xiao-yang Li Hosts Open Studio Event
Picasso's Maiden, 2015, oil on board, 45 x 71 cm, image courtesy of the artist.

New art:i:curate artist Xiao-yang Li will be showing her paintings and drawings in her open studio event where she will show recent works and works-in-progress over the weekend of the 7th & 8th of March 2015.

Since last November, Xiao-yang has been using the bedroom as subject of her paintings and drawings, thus continuing her search for the ideal primeval female form – ‘Kore’. Through this open studio event, you will meet Xiao-yang's Kore, her Maiden – the maiden of vegetation and spring.

15 small works including paintings and drawings made since 2013 will also be on view. The paintings are best viewed in natural light, so the ideal time to see them is before the sun sets.

Xiao-yang Li is a visual artist based in London. She holds a MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art, London (2013). She has exhibited in solo and group shows internationally including 'Bloomberg New Contemporaries', ICA (London, 2014); 'Can Serrat Open', El Bruc (Barcelona, 2014); 'Q-Art', APT Gallery (London, 2013); 'Foul Perfection', The Castle (London, 2012).
