art:i:curate artist Teresa Braula Reis is among the finalists of this year's New Artists Award EDP Foundation in Lisbon.
Joan Escoval, John Grass, Manuel Caldeira, Marco Pires, Mariana Silva, Nuno Vicente, Pollyanna Freire, Teresa Braula Reis and Vasco Futscher are the finalists of the 11th edition of the New Artists Award EDP Foundation.
Established in 2000 to support young artists and new creative practices in the field of contemporary art, the New Artists Award EDP Foundation is a biennial initiative that distinguishes emerging talent in contemporary art.
Throughout its 10 editions the exhibition and award has given visibility to 60 young artists. The exhibitions of the New Artists Award EDP Foundation have occupied seven different spaces of national interest in Portugal and presented 53 artists. Many of the artists exhibited have been recognised as pioneers for contemporary art in Portugal, like Joana Vasconcelos, Leonor Antunes Vasco Araújo, Carlos Bunga, João Maria Gusmão and Pedro Paiva John Leonardo, André Romão, Gabriel Abrantes, Priscila Fernandes and Ana Santos.
The finalists were featured in a group exhibition at the Museum of Electricity in Lisbon.

Teresa Braula Reis is a visual artist based in Lisbon. She holds a MFA from Central Saint Martins - University of the Arts in London (2014). She has exhibited in solo and group shows including 'New Artists Award EDP Foundation', Museum of Electricity (Lisbon, 2015); 'Restate', NEO Bankside (London, 2014); 'The Poetics of Space', Enclave (London, 2013); 'In-Transit', V22 (London, 2013); 'Painting’12 Finalists', Fine Arts National Society (Lisbon, 2012); 'ArtLab.21', Tapestry Museum (Portalegre, 2010).
