08 sep 2016 by art:i:curate team
Lovell Consulting and art:i:curate are pleased to announce the 2016 Lovell Art Prize this autumn. The competition combines art professionals’ selection with public voting on art:i:curate.
The prize aims to foster emerging artists who work across a wide range of media and excel in their craftsmanship. The public will be invited to participate in voting and funding campaigns for the artists shortlisted by a panel of judges. Those artists will be invited to participate in a group show announcing the winner.
- Group show February 2, 2017
- Editorial coverage on art:i:curate
- Acquisition of the winner’s work into the Lovell collection
- Prospect of a solo show for the winner in London in 2017
Artists must complete a portfolio submission to art:i:curate by Sep 20th. The submission should include the work that the artist would like to be considered for the prize.
If art:i:curate accepts the submission, the artist will be invited to send a link to the artwork they would like to be considered for the prize by Sep 30th.
The panel of judges chaired by John Lovell will assess the entries and invite shortlisted artists to the next round by Oct 7th. The shortlisted artists will launch funding campaigns on art:i:curate, and the public will be invited to fund the campaigns alongside the voting for the winner by December 18th.
The winner will be announced on the opening evening of the group show on February 2, 2017 and the prize-winning work will be acquired into the Lovell art collection.
The winner will be potentially given a solo exhibition in London in 2017, which will be organised with the assistance of art:i:curate.
