To celebrate London Design Festival 2015, Albion (Prescott & Conran) has invited us and award winning designer Harry Thaler to host a Supper Club at Albion Bankside. We will be discussing design, inspiration and process in an intimate and friendly circle.
Harry Thaler is a London-based product designer. He earned his BA in Product Design from the Royal College of Art, London (2010). In 2010, he was awarded the 'Conran Award' and the following year he was the recipient of the 'Interior Innovation Award' in Cologne for his project 'Pressed Chair'.
Hang It On The Wall, 2008, borosilicate glass, halogen bulb, nail, edition of 200, price $690.
Harry’s background as a goldsmith and craftsman has a strong effect on his design process. Therefore a rich and layered body of work emerges implying functionality and elegance as essential characteristics. His elaborate design is built on a foundation of traditional techniques and high quality craftsmanship creating a sensation of timelessness.
"The experience to work with different materials helped me not just to understand what is possible to realise, but changed the way I see the value of materials. I don’t need over-complicated processes. I like to use the right material for the right project."
His work has been widely featured, including publications such as Monocle, Wallpaper, FT and Dezeen, amongst the others.
Simple Light Black and White, 2014, carrara marble and brass, 24 x 26 cm, price $2,375.
