Call for Artists: Win the Creative Journey of a Lifetime to Brazil
08 apr 2014 by Valeria Mariani
The Crossway Foundation has launched Create & Inspire, an international art competition to find the most talented young artists, photographers and filmmakers living in the UK and the Gulf.
Twelve winners will have the opportunity to travel to Brazil and experience one of the most colourful cultures in the world on the creative adventure of a lifetime.
To enter the competition, applicants must submit a creative project, which relates to this year’s theme: “The World is not Black and White”.
“A black and white world is one with limited variety. Colour represents diversity, multiple opinions and openness. Experiencing different parts of the world first hand helps us to better understand ourselves and others,” says Salma Tuqan, Contemporary Middle East Curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Trustee of the Crossway Foundation.
The Crossway Foundation is looking for the next generation of talented creatives who can inspire others to make a positive difference in their community. Entrants with the most original and imaginative applications will be asked for interview in June and winners will be notified in early July.
The initiative is run by the Crossway Foundation, a London-based charity delivering arts and education initiatives for young people in the UK and the Middle East, in partnership with Art Jameel and Qatar Museums Authority.
Competition Prize: A two-week creative journey to Brazil in September 2014
Competition open to: 16-25 nationals and residents of the United Kingdom, United Arab Emriates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia
Deadline: 12 June 2014
