03 aug 2015 by art:i:curate team
art:i:curate artist Benedetta Panisson presents her 'High Tide Siren' performance, an unpublished part of her artistic project 'Come to Venice', during this year’s Project Space Festival at Kleine Humboldt Galerie in Berlin.
'Come to Venice' is an artistic project about Venice, about fear, rebellion and the sea. It is a documentary, featuring interviews, photos, drawings and graphs. This work in progress is dedicated to people who live in Venice and to everybody who feels part of it. For her participation in 'Stage for the (im)possible' exhibition Benedetta will present a live performance and bring for the first time the sound of a high tide siren - the documentary soundtrack - in Berlin.
The performance will take place at the Tieranatomisches Theater which will serve as a stage for the presentation of a series of works that may take any form. The exhibition is a project of Kleine Humboldt Galerie that will contribute to this year’s Project Space Festival by inviting artists to present works of any kind that have remained in the realm of the idea. In August’s summer break that is short of art events one day shall be dedicated to the unrealised. The participating artists are given the chance to present works that – maybe due to technical, economical, political or other issues – are existent only as concepts. By presenting these concepts to a public, the unrealised work can become effective as an idea.
