About the CBM prize

The Cultural Association AREACREATIVA42, located in the heart of Rivarolo Canavese Turin, aims at valuing historical art and promoting contemporary art, with a particular attention to the new generations.

In 2010, AREACREATIVA42 established a biennial Prize for artists, dedicated to Carlo Bonatto Minella, a Piedmont’s artist and virtuous, student of the Albertina Academy in Turin, who died very young leaving his talented artistic career incomplete.

The 3rd edition has seen the participation of 1174 artists from 46 Countries, with exhibitions in 6 different venues. This year's partners include London Art Fair, the Chemistry Gallery, the experimental space NoD Gallery of Prague and more.

Theme

Each edition of the prize is given a different theme taking inspiration from a work of Carlo Bonatto Minella. Click here to learn more about this year's theme

Entry requirements

The competition is open to contemporary artists of all nationalities. The basic selection criteria take into account the coherence of the artistic research and quality of the means of expression used, which should throw light upon one's personal reflection, in contemporary terms, about the theme of the prize.

There are two categories: Under 30 and Over 30 and only one category for video art. Maximum of three works are accepted, also in different media.

The works of art submitted for the prize must be property of the artist and must not have been previously submitted to any other art competition. The works must be alienable and at complete disposal for any further exhibitions, if the contestant becomes a finalist or winner of either category.
