Florence Lam's performance at Manifesta 11
Artist Florence Lam performs at Cabaret der Künstler Zunfthaus Voltaire as part of Manifesta 11, in Zurich.
Florence Lam is presenting her new performance entitled “The Artist Disappears” at the Cabaret der Künstler – Zunfthaus Voltaire. Taking inspiration from traditional guilds, for instance, where people would meet so as to represent their each profession. After that, Cabaret Voltaire will become the home to the newly founded Guild of Artists.
During Manifesta 11, Cabaret Voltaire will be re-named as Cabaret der Künstler – Zunfthaus Voltaire, acting as a guildhall for artists. Initially, each artist in the guild will join another artist focusing on a different medium. After that, together they work collaboratively to create a new performance on the Cabaret stage. In turn, the selected performance programme is then curated by artist Christian Jankowski. Above all, the performance is part of Manifesta 11, the European Biennial of contemporary art, in Zurich.
