This limited edition print belongs to 'The Aligera Series' which is comprised of 8 highly seductive compositions of sliced lamb's heart tissue arranged to reflect natural history and scientific specimens.

The collection of photographs are a counterpart to Hartley's biotissue sculptures 'Papaver Rhoeas', which are finely crafted poppies created from lamb's heart tissue. The sculptures have been exhibited in institutions and museums across London including the Saatchi Gallery, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Brunei Gallery - SOAS, Sir John Soane's Museum, Florence Nightingale Museum, The Foundling Museum, Alexander Fleming Laboratory Museum, Firepower: Royal Artillery Museum, The Museum of the Order of St John and The Gordon Museum of Pathology.
