A closer look at the big pictures of apparent interiors reveals that furniture and furnishings are shapes: plain flat cuttings, images of no use but still cumbersome. It is a piece of furniture that does not do its job and still it insists on standing there.

'I am deeply interested in the formal transformation of spaces, from safe and protecting shelters to traps. I investigate this transformation with video, painting, collage and photography. For these series of photos I build up small cardboard sets, where I put silhouettes of objects cut from magazines and pictures. I study the right light design and finally I take pictures.' Read less
