Lithography ink on vintage tracing cloth.

This series was created at Het Vijfde Seizoen (The Fifth Season), a residence for artists on the grounds of the psychiatric institution the Willem Arntsz Hoeve in Den Dolder, the Netherlands. Rebecca lived and worked there for the summer of 2013. She asked the patients to take her to a place that gave them a sense of hope or calm.

The series includes the pieces entitled 'Patient Observed', spaces she was taken to by a patient, 'Anonymous Observed', places she saw repeatedly inhabited by the same patient, and 'Personnal Observed', spaces and buildings that she personally needed to capture. The paintings are all approximately 56 centimeters high and hung abutted like a film strip that portrays a single psychiatric facility from several different perspectives. Read less
