This series of works was inspired by the true story of the Collyer brothers. In 1947 they were found dead inside their house in the neighbourhood of Harlem in New York. When the police broke into the house, they found tons of objects of every kind crammed and stacked everywhere. It was one of the first recognized cases of compulsive hoarding, a real mental disorder manifested by the excessive accumulation of objects. People suffering from this disorder drastically reduce their living space: their homes undergo incredible transformations in which huge piles of objects fill the rooms. The altered space is recounted in the drawing, the video and the collage. Read less
