The idea of some sort of “floating world” as a platform for simultaneously rejecting and evoking imagery is the starting point for a series of digital collages that materialise in fine art and c-type prints.
The transgression of boundaries, material or imaginary, is inherent to this fluctuation, which comes about both in the process and in the subject matter. It reflects a constant movement of structures that sink and surface within a fluid environment. The harmony of this movement is disrupted by somewhat violent gestures of revealing and obstructing the viewers’ perception of what can and cannot be trespassed. Nonetheless, the beauty of a drawn border lies on the possibility of its transgression, on its finitude. Read less
