These works are an accumulation of my past three years of travelling. Whilst producing my previous work I was always conscious of using other photographer’s work as a layer in my collages; I always strived to produce work entirely from my own images. – the mountain scenes are layers of images from Iceland, Norway, Finland & Sweden. Through using my own images the piece has more depth, there is a story behind each mountain, each person, each layer. The works are in black & white – trying to contrast, and distance themselves from previous work produced in bright vivid colour – the use of colour (or lack of) can be seen as embracing the darkness of the arctic.
