In an attempt to explore painting as a medium, Kristi's body of work is characterised by different painting techniques. She is interested in the way we perceive space as well as the human presence within it.

"I am interested in the way something intimate and at the same time very massive - somehow raw - exist in the same room. How do we perceive space? What is the image and how does image exists in space? How does space helps a shape and a colour to stand out?".

I lay shapes in the room. Space may be limited and can be borderless. Shapes and images comes around me. They are patterns. Patterns can be abstract and can be realistic. Different patterns can capture time. Patterns can be nostalgic and they can resemble different times. Collecting different patterns, I am interested in the whole social pattern.
