Soft sculpture is an integral part of Janet Currier’s practice and connects back to her two dimensional work. The sculptures reference the amorphic shapes that appear in her paintings. They also reference the underlying subject of the body.
For Currier, the sculptures are meant to be suggestive of soft toy versions of microbes and germs.
This work, consisting of 45 soft sculptures, encourages interaction, further engaging the viewer.
