Perpendicular Size!, 2015/6
59.4 x 40 cm
Caro Halford’s collage ‘Perpendicular size!’, 2015/6 is part of a series of collages that all engage with feminism. The artist uses the combination of seemingly disparate objects to suggest the female.
Furthermore, the gaze is key within the work. The visual experience and the objects are communicating with the observer to tell them, that they, themselves are also being observed. Being on display, and the uncomfortableness of this, leads to the ambiguity of the work.
